Itinerary

Overview

This is a suggested itinerary for 7 nights/8 days discovery of Kenya. This can be extended to a longer stay in Kenya, tagged on to further southern African destinations such as Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa, or fly to the magical islands of Seychelles, just a 3 hour flight away from Nairobi.

Planning

Day 1 – Nairobi On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. You have the remainder of the day to explore the city. You'll explore the famous Karen Blixen Museum, giving you a glimpse into the fascinating world of this pioneer coffee farmer, who achieved fame through her memoire “Out of Africa.” You will also visit the renowned Giraffe Centre and the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. Overnight in Nairobi

Day 2 – Early morning departure to Amboseli National Park. Enjoy vast landscapes and wildlife during this day of discovery and awe. Overnight at Amboseli.

Day 3 – Amboseli – Start the day with an early morning game drive, relax at the pool during lunch, and visit a Masai Village in the afternoon before setting off on your evening game drive. Overnight at Amboseli.

Day 4 - After introductions and pre-safari briefing, depart and drive to Tsavo West National Park to arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Tsavo West National Park offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world with large herds of dusty-red elephants, hippopotamus, giant crocodiles, black rhinoceros, and African buffalos. The park includes also the lion, the cheetah, the leopard, making Tsavo a place to see the Big Five. Birdlife is abundant as more than 600 species of bird have been recorded here. Overnight at Tsavo National Park.

Day 5 - Full day in Tsavo with morning and afternoon game viewing drives. Some of the interesting areas to be visited are the Mzima Springs, Roaring Rocks, Chaimu Crater, and Shetani Lava Flows to mention a few. On one of the afternoons you will be hosted to a sundowner within the park. Overnight at Tsavo National Park.

Day 6 – Transfer to the station for a train ride to Mombasa, where on arrival you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Relax by the pool, enjoy the beach and the hotel surroundings at leisure. Overnight in Mombasa.

Day 7 – Excursion to explore Mombasa city, Old Town, Mama Ngina Drive, hindu temples, and Fort Jesus to mention a few. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon exploring the hotel and surroundings. Overnight in Mombasa.

Day 8 - Au Revoir! Enjoy a delicious breakfast before your transfer to Mombasa International Airport as per your flight schedule. Depart with exciting and unforgettable memories.

About the COVID travel regulations (updated 16 November 2020):

The infection rate in Kenya has reached just over 48,000 cases to date. Kenya has eased travel restrictions and has opened up the country for tourists from specific points of origin (to be verified at time of booking).

Travellers only need to present a negative PCR test that is not older than 72 hours on entry.

Regulations are evolving on a constant basis and need to be re-checked at time of travel. We are however confident that Kenya is a safe travel destination in this regard.
